Well attended grand opening event in China
Tobii Technology has opened an office for product development and sales, as well as a production plant, in Suzhou, China. Many prominent guests attended the grand opening ceremony.
On Friday August 28th Tobii officially opened the branch in Suzhou, China. Some 100 guests attended the opening ceremony. The Swedish trade council was represented by Joanna Boquist and the Swedish consulate by Peter Larkö, who spoke about the importance of innovation for Swedish industry:
“Tobii is a truly innovative company and, as we know, the company has won several awards for their innovation. Tobii is a not only a good ambassador for Sweden because of their innovation, however. Some of the products produced by Tobii, such as drowsiness monitoring, have the potential of saving lives and others, like assistive technology, have the potential of significantly improving the lives of the disabled, something for which I admire them.”
Tobii has already established relationships with around 30 local suppliers. Many of them attended the ceremony and enjoyed the traditional Chinese fireworks as well as the Swedish “smorgasbord”.
“Today, China is trading partner number one for Sweden, and the same goes for scientific exchange. Moving into China is a natural next step for Tobii and we already enjoy many strong relationships there”, says John Elvesjö, founder of Tobii Technology.
