Usability Services at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences is a ”clinic” where companies and different organizations can buy training and research services for their user centered product development. The Usability Services are a part of research and development activities which are carried out along with education at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.

User Centered Design Projects
We participate in our customers’ user centered design projects as a usability expert. The product that is being designed can for example be a machine, working environment or web service. If the product is a computer program or net application we can utilize eye-tracking in usability studies. We have used eye-tracking as an additional method along with traditional ones in the studies. Scan path data has offered us a new dimension to understand the user’s activities with the product.

Educational Projects
Our students in user centered design also use the Tobii eye-tracker in their studies. They use the system in practical tasks and different research projects that are associated with their studies.
