Tobii opens branch in China

Tobii Technology continues its global expansion and opens a new branch in Suzhou, near Shanghai, in China. The branch will be the stepping stone for Tobii’s continued expansion in Asia.

Tobii Technology is one of Sweden’s fastest growing technology company with offices in Sweden, Norway, Germany, the USA, Japan and China. The new branch in China includes development and production, as well as a local sales team which will also be established. Currently Tobii Electronics Technology (Suzhou) Co. Ltd employs 11 people, aiming at employing around 25 by the end of 2009.

According to Peter Sandberg, General Manager of Tobii Electronics Technology Co. Ltd., the Chinese establishment is of key importance for Tobii in its future challenges.

“Local presence in China is providing huge opportunities. It reduces geographical, cultural and language obstacles and we’re getting closer to some of the world’s most competent suppliers. Our new production facility allows us to increase our volumes radically to meet the rising demand for our eye tracking and communication aid products”, says Peter Sandberg.

Tobii has already established relationships with around 30 local suppliers.
