Director of Order Management - Medical Devices / Health Insurance

The Director Order Management is responsible for collaborating with Sales, Forecasting, and Manufacturing to execute and support revenue and forecasting goals for pre and post sales order initiatives. The Director develops and implements funding policies and procedures that drive department goals in support of the organization’s mission.

The Director is responsible for creating innovative reimbursement support programs for internal and external customers. Responsibilities also include development and execution (as required) of sales force and account management training materials related to reimbursement support programs. This role will be a key resource in maintaining revenue, and establishing, implementing and controlling the billing system and supervising staff as part of Revenue Cycle Management. The Director will work closely with Field Sales, Funding, Senior Management and other departments to ensure contracts are properly implemented and revenue maximized. This role is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize initiatives and work cross-functionally to improve processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Order Management and post sales group assuring that all compliance standards are met in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, and internal policies and procedures
  • Develop appropriate internal controls to ensure the accurate and timely intake, submission, and processing of funding authorizations
  • Assist the President of North American Sales in developing the department’s budget and ensuring its compliance
  • Review and analyze the department’s performance and prepare and present reports on sales volume, current funding pipeline initiatives, new funding requests, forecasting, and adherence to budget
  • Develop new initiatives to drive top line sales growth, reduce cycle time, and improve inter-departmental operations
  • Approve all new or revised funding authorization policies and procedures and ensure they meet company, government and third party standards
  • Resolve escalating issues involving customer inquiries, sales staff concerns, and third party payer disputes
  • Evaluates and documents client needs and all aspects of business processes both operational and financial, including current process analysis; and proposed revisions to optimize business processes.
  • Meet account receivable operational standards through the management of all aspects of the reimbursement function, including prior authorization, billing and collections
  • Work with Financial Analyst on issues as it affects claim payments, denials, and short pays
  • Update the department regarding audit findings and ensure that corrective action plans are in place to address any audit findings
  • Perform various other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years leadership experience in the healthcare reimbursement environment preferably within the medical device industry
  • Experience managing teams preferably in the following areas: billing, collections, customer service, funding/health insurance
  • Detailed knowledge of the order management process
  • Detailed knowledge of coding, billing and payment systems in healthcare
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in A/R management, charge entry, billing, collections, and payment posting
  • Experience with revenue cycle and reimbursement
  • Additional experience with the following is a plus:
    • Operations management
    • Sales or sales lifecycle
    • Forecasting
    • ICD-10 coding and terminology
