Software usability test using a Tobii T60 Eye Tracker.
Experiencing a website or software application through the eyes of your users helps you to understand their motives and behavior in a revolutionary new way. Eye tracking has become a key method for usability testing of websites, software, computer games, and interactive TV. It is also useful for studying user interaction with mobile devices and physical products.
What do I get out of eye tracking?
Eye tracking gives you clearer results and unveils information normally missed with other testing methods. It enables you to follow a user’s visual navigation efforts even if he or she is not verbalizing thought processes. You can measure spontaneous reactions and responses without the filtering of the respondent's logical mind or the influence of a test leader.

The Gaze replay tool in Tobii Studio allows you to replay, analyze and export any segment of a test session.
What search strategies are used? What design interface elements are seen and which are ignored?
Observe eye movements and user interaction live during test sessions and log important events. Eye tracking provides insight not only on a descriptive level, but also into the origins of a problem. It allows a detailed analysis of the stages when a problem occurs, such as user expectations, perception or comprehension.

Heat map visualizations and key eye tracking metrics give an aggregated view of user attention and behavior.
Gaze replays from several individuals assigned to conduct a number of tasks at this travel web site showed similar search patterns. Most of the visual navigation efforts were directed towards the left hand menu, the category links at the top of the page and the price examples to the right. Entry points placed elsewhere were either not seen or spotted very late. Others were looked at but, for different reasons, not clicked at.
