Analyze statistics
Tobii Studio 2.1 offers a powerful statistics module that provides the perfect framework for eye tracking and mouse click data analysis. The solution offers comprehensive, flexible, easy-to-interpret tables and bar charts that incorporate the most advanced calculations of gaze and click metrics. It allows you to easily and quickly extract descriptive statistics without having to develop your own tools.
AOI definition tool
The AOI definition tool enables you to define areas of interest (AOI) within your stimuli. Instead of interpreting your data based on the direct gaze coordinates of the test participants, you base the analysis on the frequency, time, and so on that they have spent looking within the AOIs. By relating eye gaze to certain objects on the screen you can obtain higher level statistics from single or multiple recordings.
AOIs can be grouped together, allowing for accumulation and analysis of data within and across stimuli and tests, and more flexible and advanced test design and analysis.
Cluster tool
Cluster visualizations show areas with a high concentration of fixations. Clusters can be generated automatically and transformed easily into AOIs.
Eye tracking and click metrics
The Tobii Studio statistics tool offers extensive opportunities to calculate and display eye tracking and click metrics, such as time to first fixation, fixation duration, fixation count, percentage fixated, time to first mouse click, time from first fixation to next mouse click, etc.
Statistics are calculated based on eye tracking and mouse click data, and AOIs within specified time intervals. Results are displayed in the form of tables and charts.
Cross tabulation and cross test tables and charts
The completely redesigned statistics module in Tobii Studio 2.1 supports creation of complex tables, such as cross test tables composed of multiple media within a single project, multi‐metric tables, and cross tabulation using independent variables or responses from questionnaires as filters to group participants. The tool also supports production of descriptive statistics from AOI groups.
Tables displaying AOI statistics can be organized by media, metrics, AOIs, AOI groups and/or descriptive statistics (columns), and by participants or participant groups (rows).
Bar charts, which can be copied and pasted directly into your report, are ideal for displaying gaze and click statistics.
Export of statistics and raw data
For unlimited flexibility and more depth of analysis, your findings can be exported to Excel, Matlab and SPSS. Tobii Studio offers what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) export of tables, compatible with most statistical software packages. You can also export the raw data from each recording.
