Experienced Machine Learning Engineer

Tobii Tech focuses on integrating Tobii’s core eye tracking technologies and user experiences into VR/AR headsets, laptops, games, smartphones, cars, and many more platforms and products. We’ve built a vibrant ecosystem for PC gaming and we are now rapidly expanding into the VR and AR space. If you want to be one of the pioneers that take eye-based interactions to new, exciting mass markets, we may have just the job for you!

Do you have what it takes to push the performance of eye tracking algorithms beyond what is possible today and transform how humans interact with machines?

Machine learning plays an essential role in eye tracking technology and mass market applications pose extremely challenging requirements.

We are looking for a driven machine learning enthusiast to join our mission and tackle these challenges.

The role and responsibilities

As an algorithm developer, you will be an important part of the core technology team responsible for the development of eye tracking algorithms to be used in all our products.

Your algorithms will not only bring eye tracking into the everyday life of potentially billions of people but also, for example, improve the life of people with disabilities and make a difference in the understanding of human behavior.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop ground-breaking real-time machine learning algorithms
  • Be involved in strategic decisions related to machine learning
  • Share your insights in machine learning and guide your colleagues in related questions

We are looking for someone who

  • Has 5 years of work experience in product R&D or research in fields related to machine learning
  • Has a broad knowledge of machine learning algorithms and principles
  • Has documented programming skills (C++ and/or Python is a merit)
  • Has an M.Sc. or PhD in machine learning, computer science, engineering physics, mathematics or equivalent

If you have previous experience with large-scale machine learning problems, real-time machine learning implementations and/or computer vision we see this as a huge plus.

To be successful in this role you enjoy the beauty of clever and fast implementations of your algorithms and put pride in the quality of your code. You are not satisfied until the performance of your algorithm is quantitatively verified. You are inspired by the quest for the Singularity!

At Tobii we believe in diversity in teams, sustainable software development and great engineering practices and we hope that you feel the same.

We know that we are asking for a lot but we are world leading and we are not planning to change that anytime soon!

Address you questions to Michaela McCarthy, michaela.mccarthy@tobii.com. Please note that due to vacation the response time will be longer than usual. Interviews will be held in August.

We are also looking for an expert within computer vision and a Software Architect to this team. Do you know someone that might be a match? Tell them to apply!
