Junior Algorithm Developers

Tobii Tech focuses on integrating Tobii’s core eye tracking technologies and user experiences into VR/AR headsets, laptops, games, smartphones, cars, and many more platforms and products. We’ve built a vibrant ecosystem for PC gaming and we are now rapidly expanding into the VR and AR space. If you want to be one of the pioneers that take eye-based interactions to new, exciting mass markets, we may have just the job for you!

Algorithms play an essential role in eye tracking technology and mass market applications pose extremely challenging requirements. We are looking for algorithm developers that want to join our mission and tackle these challenges. Do you want to push the performance of eye tracking algorithms beyond what is possible today and transform how humans interact with machines? If your answer is yes, keep on reading because you will want to hear about what we have to say!

The role and responsibilities

As an algorithm developer, you will be an important part of the core technology team responsible for the development of eye tracking modules to be used in all our products. This means that your code will not only bring eye tracking into everyday life of potentially billions of people, but also improve the life for people with disabilities and make a difference in understanding human behavior.

Your days will be filled with

  • Design, implement and improve algorithms for eye controlled products.
  • Analyze and tune algorithms to maximize performance.
  • Evaluate and optimize code to meet timing and memory requirements.
  • Be part of a team that tackles real problems using state of the art computer vision, machine learning and image processing technologies.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has an M.Sc. in engineering physics, computer science, mathematics or similar.
  • Is knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: signal and image processing, computer vision, machine learning or object tracking.
  • Is passionate about algorithm development, mathematical modelling and general problem solving.

It is a merit if you have industry or research experience in the abovementioned fields. We see it as a great plus if you have worked with software and/or algorithm development, especially for embedded systems. Previous experience programming in C++ and/or Python is also highly regarded.

To be successful in this role you are driven by mathematical challenges and problem solving. You enjoy coding and you always ensure that your code is of high quality. Here at Tobii we believe in sustainable software development and great engineering practices and we believe that you feel the same.

Please address your questions to Michaela McCarthy, michaela.mccarthy@tobii.com. Submit your resume and cover letter on our website. Please note that due to vacation the response time will be longer than usual. Interviews will be held in August.
