Senior Desktop Developer - Tobii Pro

Tobii Pro supplies eye tracking-based solutions for testing and analysis purposes. Tobii’s solutions are used to develop and enhance product design and interface by giants like Google, Microsoft, Unilever and Sony. Eye tracking is also used by researchers in a variety of academic disciplines. If you want to work with innovative, market-leading products, we may have just the job for you!

We’re looking for a skilled developer with experience in video pipelines especially Media Foundation.

Our most important software product, Tobii Pro Lab used by universities, researchers and commercial actors around the globe is constantly developed and enhanced. We need you to be part of the product team! The product is used to design, conduct and analyze experiments centered around – but not limited to - eye tracking. Our customers bet their academic career or next marketing campaign on insights gained from our software, so we need to offer a very high quality product handling high volumes of data with microsecond timing resolution and precision.

We’re in it for the long haul. We do not take short cuts that may cause problems down the road. Clean and clear code and solutions is key, as we will maintain the code base for years to come. We are market leaders in our field and intend to strengthen our position even further.

The desktop product team is split in several scrum teams located in Stockholm and Kiev. The main language is English. Some travel is required, or at least desired.

The role and responsibilities

In this role, you will primarily work with Tobii Pro Lab, developing in C/C++/C# on windows/desktop.

Your days will be filled with

  • Implementing sources, filters, transformations and sinks in Windows Media Foundation.
  • Writing desktop application code in C# and WPF.
  • Collaborating with teams in Stockholm and Kiev regarding implementation details, process improvements and collaboration efforts.
  • Taking part in discussions on the future of the product and market.
  • Writing test cases for your own code and enough manual testing to ensure it’s done done when you say it’s done.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a good understanding of video pipelines, video formats, Media Foundation.
  • Understands C#, especially the new constructs – and C/C++ of course!
  • Is familiar with and appreciates concepts like TDD, Scrum, agile methods
  • Wants to deliver high quality software and is ready to walk the extra mile to actually do so.

We find it to be a strong merit if you have experience in/knowledge in/worked with video software, media streaming and delivery, DirectShow, Video4Linux, maybe some open source project, software architecture.
