Shipping and Receiving Associate

We have an immediate need for a Shipping and Receiving Associate for our Pittsburgh office. Our Pittsburgh office is located in the South Side. JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping and Receiving Associates records and maintains control of all inventories, miscellaneous items that flow through Receiving, Shipping, and ensures compliance with established internal control procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Distribution of all incoming items to proper personnel
  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages and reject damaged items
  • Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders or other records
  • New items all put through the first article process, all inventoried items accounted for and replenished, proper quality checks completed, all paperwork done correctly and posted daily
  • Dock and Truck duties, meaning unload shipments if necessary from trucks, remove and dispose of packaging material, operate forklifts, stock items and hand trucks
  • Investigate and resolve situations where items received are not properly documented in the daily receipt log
  • Review open orders and pick, pack and ship products and accessories to customer
  • Confirm accuracy of product packed
  • Based upon packing slip, prepare package for shipment according to carrier instructions for UPS, or FedEx
  • Ensure that packages are shipped on a timely basis and consult with supervisor and internal customers regarding any shipping issues or need for clarifications
  • Assist in the Product Placement Department with duties as assigned, such as device deployments, shipments, and receiving’s
  • Perform various other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Hands on or formal transportation training
  • 1-2 years related experience

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate with team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop thorough documentation
  • Interpersonal and teaming skills

COMPUTER OR TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Familiarity and experience in utilizing databases
  • Previous technical or computer experience
  • Familiarity with transportation software
  • MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook

OTHER SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing operations, assembly, and inspection
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose devices
  • Ability to relate information in a timely, clear and concise manner to relevant personnel
  • Prioritize tasks
  • Detailed Oriented
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to sit, stand, and walk
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs
  • Manual and finger dexterity
  • Able to feel and reach with arms and hands
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise levels

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Light manufacturing environment
  • Moderate noise level
