Tobii Pro Lab constitutes, together with Tobii Pro hardware, a complete solution for behavioral research. It provides a visual no-code user interface and dedicated software features that efficiently guide and support the researcher through all phases from experimental design and data recording to analysis.
Beyond primary functions, blinks provide insights into human cognition and behavior, enhancing our understanding of attention, decision-making, time perception and even creativity. In Tobii Pro Lab, blinks are detected based on eye openness, following Nyström et al. (2024). You can visualize blinks in the session replay mode and export the following blink metrics (the list is not exhaustive):
Number of blinks
Blink latency
Duration of blink opening/closing phase
For researchers in cognitive and psychological science, Tobii Pro Lab offers eye tracking data pre-processing tools, a powerful experiment designer, and integrated analysis functionality.
Synchronize eye tracking with visual or auditory stimuli to study reaction times and cognitive load.
Choose to export data with pre-calculated metrics and pre-processing tools, or as raw, unprocessed data.
Analyze visual perception through fixations and saccades, and other metrics based on areas of interest (AOIs).
Greater flexibility in customizing experiment designs and seamless data transfer into Tobii Pro Lab for data pre-processing.
Tobii Pro Lab supports a full multimodal workflow with EEG, GSR, ECG, fNIRS and other modalities to explore physiological and cognitive responses simultaneously.
Additional calibration modes for swift and accurate calibration on infants (infant calibration mode) and non-human primates (non-human primates mode).
Present images, audio, video, and text, in any combination and even multiple media on a single stimulus.
Sampling or shuffling and combine with blocked designs. For large numbers, use spreadsheets to make it more convenient.
Advance stimulus based on time, key press, mouse click, or gaze triggers.
