Tobii Eye Tracker 5L update

We're excited to announce our latest update, bringing a range of performance enhancements and new features:

  • Improved Outdoor Performance: Enhanced for environments with sunlight.

  • Image Stream: Now available by default as part of the developer license.

  • Combined Gaze API: New API without temporal filtering, similar to Tobii Nexus, for easy comparison using the same code.

  • A new connection API: Our new connection API simplifies your setup, designed to help you start with less code and streamline your workflow.

  • Eye Openness Signal: Added as a beta feature for evaluation—let us know if you'd like to try it.


  • License Key Handling: Enforced license key handling, individual feature licensing, and stronger differentiation with the 5L core offering 33Hz combined gaze, while the advanced edition supports all features and up to 120Hz.

  • Windows Hello: Deprecated.

  • Tobii Stream Engine Client files are now deployed separately, with improved code samples and guiding documentation that will update more frequently to better assist you in getting started with your product.
