Tobii Streams SDK

We are proud to present Tobii Streams SDK! The go-to SDK for all Tobii screen-based eye trackers from webcam eye tracking to Tobii hardware eye trackers. It is centered around our Tobii Stream Engine API that is used in millions of devices from healthcare devices to commercial PCs. From Windows, to Android, to Linux and with sample code in C, C# and Unity it is a truly cross-platform SDK that makes it easy to get up and running with your eye tracking application.

The Tobii Streams SDK will have an increasing number of helper libs and value add-ons provided on top of the raw data APIs. First out is a library that allows you to visualize gaze using GPU to render at low latency.

Tobii Eye Tracker 5L update

We're excited to announce our latest update, bringing a range of performance enhancements and new features:

  • Improved Outdoor Performance: Enhanced for environments with sunlight.

  • Image Stream: Now available by default as part of the developer license.

  • Combined Gaze API: New API without temporal filtering, similar to Tobii Nexus, for easy comparison using the same code.

  • A new connection API: Our new connection API simplifies your setup, designed to help you start with less code and streamline your workflow.

  • Eye Openness Signal: Added as a beta feature for evaluation—let us know if you'd like to try it.


  • License Key Handling: Enforced license key handling, individual feature licensing, and stronger differentiation between the 5L core and advanced feature offering.

  • Windows Hello: Deprecated.

  • Tobii Stream Engine Client files are now deployed separately, with improved code samples and guiding documentation that will update more frequently to better assist you in getting started with your product.
